The town of Nessebar is 36 km away northeast of Burgas, on the Black Sea coast. In close proximity to it is another major Bulgarian resort - Sunny Beach. Today the old and the new part of the city are separated by a narrow isthmus. The old town is only 850 meters long and 350 meters wide. For the time it existed, the city has lost about a third of its territory, which has been washed away by the sea.
Today, the old town is an attractive place for romantic walks along the narrow cobblestone streets, alongside small shops offering handmade souvenirs – ceramics, knits and jewelry. The wonderful historical atmosphere of the town is a prerequisite for an unforgettable holiday. In the summer it is a favorite place for walks of the guests and the residents of Nessebar. One of the symbols of the city is the windmill, which is located in the middle of the isthmus. The peninsula, on which Old Nessebar is located, is included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO. In summer, concerts and many other events are organized in the Ancient Theater of the Old city. Behind it is the sea station of Nessebar, where cruise ships can be seen during the active summer season. If you want to feel the spirit of the Old Nessebar, you can stay there – in one of the many family hotels or private rooms. There are also plenty of restaurants offering superb seafood in the area.
The new part of Nessebar also offers a variety of accommodation options. There are located the main administration buildings and other institutions. The northern and southern beaches of Nessebar are located in the new town. There is also a beach in the Old Nessebar, but it is not big. Those searching for more adrenaline and entertainment can take a tour over Nessebar with a helicopter, take a boat and enjoy a variety of water attractions that are offered on the beach.
